Bagi para laki-laki yang tak suka berjenggot, lebih baik Anda mulai pertimbangkan lagi. Menurut penelitian, ternyata perempuan lebih suka pria berjenggot lho.

Sebuah penelitian dilakukan terhadap perempuan berumur 18-44 tahun. Mereka semua diperlihatkan15 gambar pria yang memiliki jenggot dengan beberap tingkatan. Ada yang dagunya mulus tanpa bulu, sedikit jenggot hingga yang jenggotnya lebat.

Perempuan-perempuan tadi kemudian harus memilih, pria-pria mana yang menurut mereka dewasa, romantis, agresif dan serius dalam berhubungan cinta.

Dikutip detikhot dari Telegraph.co.uk, Kamis (3/7/2008) hasiln penelitian itu cukup mengejutkan. Mayoritas perempuan-perempuan tadi selalu memilih pria-pria yang berjenggot ketika menjawab pertanyaan yang diajukan.

Perempuan-perempuan itu juga menganggap pria-pria yang tidak bercukur memiliki daya tarik tersendiri. Mereka juga lebih memilih pria-pria berjenggot sebagai pasangan hidup mereka.

Bikini ternyata jadi sihir tersendiri bagi pria. Sebuah penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa pria menjadi bodoh ketika melihat para perempuan mengenakan bikini.

Yang dimaksud bodoh adalah setelah melihat perempuan seksi berbikini, pria tak bisa berpikir jernih selama sesaat. Walaupun sifatnya hanya sementara, namun efeknya cukup fatal.

Penelitian itu dilakukan oleh para peneliti asal Belgia terhadap 358 pria. Dikutip detikhot dari MSNBC, Jumat (20/6/2008), para pria itu bagi menjadi dua. Kelompok pertama disodori gambar-gambar perempuan seksi berbikini dan video perempuan berbikini. Sedangkan kelompok yang lain disodori gambar pria-pria memakai T-shirt di pinggir pantai.

Setelah itu kedua kelompok tersebut ditawarkan imbalan 15 Euro yang diberikan segera atau melakukan penawaran untuk mendapatkan imbalan yang lebih besar namun imbalannya tak segera dibayarkan.

Pria pada kelompok pertama lebih banyak untuk memilih segera mengambil imbalan 15 Euro mereka. Sedangkan pria yang melihat gambar laki-laki berpakaian lengkap mayoritas memilih untuk melakukan penawaran dan mendapat imbalan 5-10 Euro lebih banyak.

Para peneliti menyimpulkan, gambar seksi perempuan berbikini itu membuat emosi pria-pria menjadi tidak stabil. Alhasil mereka tidak berpikir panjang dan terburu-buru mengambil keputusan.

Ternyata ada banyak jalan menuju panjang umur. Tak hanya soal mengkonsumsi makanan dan minuman bergizi, Anda juga harus memperhatikan persahabatan yang telah dibina selama ini. Loh?

1. Minum lebih banyak air. Terbukti bahwa meminum lebih banyak air mineral akan membuat tubuh tidak dehidrasi. Juga dengan menambahkan lebih banyak air ke dalam tubuh, kulit akan terlihat lebih sehat dan muda.

2. Konsumsi lebih banyak buah beri. Buah beri seperti strawberries, blueberries, cranberries dan raspberries juga baik untuk antioksidan. Buah beri bisa meningkatkan sistem kekebalan tubuh. Ini bisa membantu menghambat stroke, penuaan dan kanker serta mempertajam ingatan.

3. Turunkan kadar gula dan karbohidrat dalam makanan dan minuman Anda. Jika Anda berhasil dapatkan tambahan usia satu tahun! Cara ini juga bisa mengurangi risiko sakit mental seperti depresi dan kekhawatiran berlebih.

4. Usahakan untuk tidur siang berkualitas. Siapa bilang tidur siang hanya untuk anak kecil, orang menjadi sibuk dan lupa untuk menyeimbangkan kesegaran tubuhnya di siang hari. Lebih baik Anda mencuri waktu untuk tidur di jam istirahat. Tak perlu lama-lama, cukup 20 hingga 30 menit saja. Ini bisa membantu menyegarkan tubuh dan mengatasi stres.

5. Jangan lupa merapikan rumah. Menyapu, mencuci piring atau sekedar merapikan ruang keluarga Anda ternyata berpengaruh besar terhadap kesehatan. Bersihkan rumah selama 30 menit akan membakar 150 kalori dan menurunkan tekanan darah. Masalah tekanan darah ini juga bisa memperpanjang hidup Anda. Dan untuk pria, ini adalah cara yang baik untuk membuat hubungan rumah tangga dengan istri makin mesra.

6. Berpikir positif. Orang yang kerap berpikiran negatif biasanya mudah terserang penyakit jantung, stroke dan lainnya. Kadang ada pentingnya Anda tak terlalu membebankan semua masalah di pundak sendiri dan bagaimana caranya Anda bisa berbagi dengan orang lain.

7. Belajar tertawa. Tertawa bisa membantu Anda merasa lebih baik dalam menjalani hidup.

8. Dilarang menelepon sambil menyetir. Terbukti, berbicara dengan ponsel sambil menyetir sering menyebabkan kecelakaan kendaraan bermotor. Jadi mengapa terus mempertahankan aktivitas yang sekiranya bisa membunuh Anda. Dengan menghilangkan hal tersebut, artinya Anda lagi-lagi menambah usia Anda.

9. Berakhir pekan romantis. Coba habiskan akhir pekan Anda untuk berlibur. Ini bisa menyegarkan otak dan tubuh. Berbag waktu romantis bersama seserang yang Anda sayangi adalah hadiah paling berharga.

10. Imbangi buah dan sayur dengan daging. Kebiasaan macam ini bisa membantu kesehatan tubuh. Makan buah dan sayuran, segera usia Anda bertambah.

11. Gerakan tubuh Anda. Jangan terlalu memanjakan tubuh. Sedikit olahraga tak ada salahnya. Misalnya jogging atau biasakan jalan menuju tempat parkir bisa berpengaruh besar. Setelah makan malam, gerakan tubuh dengan berjalan. Lakukan secara rutin.

12. Bergabung dalam kegiatan amal. Seseorang yang merasa dirinya berguna dan penting pasti punya tujuan hidup yang lebih jelas. Hal positif ini tentu saja bisa membuat tubuh bersemangat, bahagia dan panjang umur.

13. Re-evaluasi dan tinggalkan persahabatan yang merugikan. Hati-hati tak selamanya persahabatan menguntungkan. Beberapa hubungan ada yang tak sehat dan tak produktif. Ini akan membuat Anda menjadi orang yang senantiasa stres berkepanjangan. Ingatlah, betapa pentingnya menyadari tipe hubungan seperti apa yang tak bisa ditolong dan diperbaiki dan tentukan kapan waktu Anda untuk bergerak dan meninggalkan mereka.

Peneliti di Amerika Serikat telah melakukan penelitian selama 30 tahun. Hasilnya mereka menemukan bahwa 80 persen pria berumur di atas 60 tahun meninggal karena kanker prostat dan penyakt lainnya karena hasratnya yang tak tersalurkan. Hal tersebut disampaikan oleh psikolog asal Rusia, Leonid Kitaev-Smyk yang dikutip detikhot dari Pravda.com

Selain itu ditemukan juga, pria-pria berumur 30 tahunan memiliki gangguan impotensi karena tidak mencapai kepuasan seksual terus menerus.

a few of the usual Sunday evening hymns, the church’s pastor slowly stood up,
walked over to the pulpit and, before he gave his sermon for the evening,
briefly introduced a guest minister who was in the service that evening. In the

of his dearest childhood friends and that he wanted him to have a few
moments to greet the church and share whatever he felt would be
appropriate for the service.

With that, an elderly man stepped up to the pulpit and began to speak. "A
father, his son, and a friend of his son were sailing off the Pacific coast,"
he began, "when a fast approaching storm blocked any attempt to get back
to the shore. The waves were so high, that even though the father was an
experienced sailor, he could not keep the boat upright and the three were swept
into the ocean as the boat capsized."

The
old man hesitated for a moment, making eye contact with two teenagers who were,
for the first time since the service began, looking somewhat interested in
his story. The aged minister continued with his story, “grabbing a rescue
line, the father had to make the most excruciating decision of his
life: to which boy would he throw the other end of the life line. He only had
seconds to make the decision.

The father knew that his son was a Christian and he also knew that his
son’s friend was not. The agony of his decision could not be matched by the
torrent of waves. As the father yelled out, ‘I love you, son!’ he threw
out the life line to his son’s friend. By the time the father had pulled
the
friend back to the capsized boat, his son had disappeared beneath the
raging swells into the black of night. His body was never recovered.

By this time, the two teenagers were sitting up straight in the pew, anxiously
waiting for the next words to come out of the old minister’s mouth. "The
father," he continued, "knew his son would step into eternity with
Jesus and yet he could not bear the thought of his son’s friend stepping into
an eternity without Jesus. Therefore, he sacrificed his son to save the
son’s friend. How great is the love of God that He should do the same for us.
Our Heavenly
Father sacrificed his only Begotten Son that we could be saved. I urge you to
accept His offer to rescue you and take a hold of the life line He is throwing
out to you in this service." With that, the old man turned and sat back
down in his chair as silence filled the room.

The pastor again walked slowly to the pulpit and delivered a brief sermon with an
invitation at the end. However, no one responded to the appeal. Within minutes
after the service ended, the two teenagers were at the old man’s side. “That
was a nice story," politely stated one of them, "but I don’t think it
was very realistic for a father to give up his only son’s life in hopes
that the other boy would become a Christian."

"Well, you’ve got a point there," the old man replied glancing down
at his worn bible. A big smile broadened his narr ow face he once again
looked up at the boys and said, "It sure isn’t very realistic, is it?
But I’m standing here today to tell you that story gives me a glimpse of what
it must have been like for God to give up his son for me. You see… I was that
father and your pastor is my son’s friend."

The Image of The Divine Mercy

In 1931, Our Lord appeared to St. Faustina
in a vision. She saw Jesus clothed in a white garment with His right
hand raised in blessing. His left hand was touching His garment in the
area of the Heart, from where two large rays came forth, one red and
the other pale. She gazed intently at the Lord in silence, her soul
filled with awe, but also with great joy. Jesus said to her:

Paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the signature: Jesus,
I trust in You. I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not
perish. I also promise victory over [its] enemies already here on earth, especially
at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own glory. (Diary, 47, 48)
I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to
the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signature: Jesus, I
trust in You. (327) I desire that this image be venerated, first in your chapel,
and [then] throughout the world. (47)

At the request of her spiritual director, St. Faustina asked the
Lord about the meaning of the rays in the Image. She heard these words
in reply:

The two rays denote Blood and Water. The pale ray stands for the Water which
makes souls righteous. The red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of
souls. These two rays issued forth from the depths of My tender mercy when My
agonized Heart was opened by a lance on the Cross. Happy is the one
who will dwell in their shelter, for the just hand of God shall not lay hold
of him. (299) By means of this image I shall grant many graces to souls. It
is to be a reminder of the demands of My mercy, because even the strongest faith
is of no avail without works. (742)

These words indicate that the Image represents the graces of Divine
Mercy poured out upon the world, especially through Baptism and the
Eucharist.

Many different versions of this image have been painted, but Our Lord made
it clear that the painting itself is not what is important. When St. Faustina
first saw the original image that was being painted under her direction, she
wept in disappointment and complained to Jesus: Who will paint You as beautiful
as You are? (313)

In answer she heard these words: Not in the beauty of the color, nor of the
brush lies the greatness of this image, but in My grace. (313)

So, no matter which version of the Image we prefer, we can be
assured that it is a vehicle of God’s grace if it is revered with trust
in His mercy.

About Mercy Sunday

On that day the very depths of My tender Mercy are open.

My mercy [the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist].

Just then, Natalie appeared and announced to the man that she charged $1,000 a visit. Without hesitation, the man pulled out ten one hundred dollar bills and gave them to Natalie and they went upstairs. After an hour, the man calmly left.

The next night, the same man appeared again, demanding to see Natalie. Natalie explained that no one had ever come back two nights in a row - too expensive - and there were no discounts. The price was still $1,000. Again the man pulled out the money, gave it to Natalie and they went upstairs. After an hour, he left.

The following night the man was there again. Everyone was astounded that he had come for the third consecutive night, but he paid Natalie and they went upstairs. After their session, Natalie questioned the man. "No one has ever used me three nights in a row. Where are you from?" she asked.
The man replied, "South Carolina."
"Really" she said. "I also have family in South Carolina."
"I know", the man said. "Your father died and I am your sister’s attorney. She asked me to deliver your $3,000 inheritance."

The pilot goes into Heaven with his robe and staff.

He says to the priest, "Take this cotton robe and wooden staff and enter the Kingdom."
"Just a minute," says the good father, "that man was a pilot and he  gets a silken robe and golden staff, and I get only cotton and wood. How can this be?"
